**Req Number** 164099 Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Queens, NY Direct Hire Full Time, 9am to 5pm or 8am to 4pm FlexStaff is seeking a COTA for our client, a non-profit organization providing services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in NYC and the Hudson Valley. Responsibilities: + Review medical records and verify physician orders and OT assessments. + Maintain up-to-date prescriptions per NYS DOH and OPWDD guidelines. + Communicate with supervising OT regarding patient progress and functional areas. + Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals. + Incorporate input from patients, families, and direct care staff into treatment. + Write clear, measurable, outcome-oriented documentation in the EMR within required timeframes. + Train patients, families, and staff in supportive programs. + Participate in care plan/team meetings. + Follow documented treatment plans, which may include ROM, therapeutic exercise, cognitive/perceptual retraining, ADL training, wheelchair mobility, pre-vocational skills, and modality application. + Consult with supervising OT for treatment modifications. + Perform other assigned duties. Qualifications: + Graduate of an accredited OTA school. + NY State license, limited permit, or license-eligible. + NBCOT exam passed or within one year of hire. + Knowledge of adaptive equipment and therapeutic activities. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Proficient in Microsoft Word. + Ability to perform various patient transfers (pivot, two-person lift, mechanical lift). + Ability to travel to assigned sites. Requirements: + Participate in mandatory educational programs. + Maintain current licensure and certifications. + Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies, including corporate compliance. Additional Salary Detail The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
