Position Title Costume Shop Assistant- Work Study (Student) Student Status Work Study Required- You are required to be a Federal Work Study Recipient to hold this position. Work Location Springfield Campus Department Theatre & Dance Hiring Range 13.75 Sponsorship Information Applicants must be currently authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States on a full-time basis. This position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship. Department/Employer Operating Hours Theatre & Dance How many hours per week are required? 6-8 Description of Primary Duties Assisting in the construction and maintenance of all costume elements for the Department’s productions. Required Qualifications Sewing/cutting/altering, etc. of costumes. Assisting with the cleaning of costumes. Assisting with the maintenance of costumes. Assisting with fittings. Required Certifications Knowledge of operation and safety of all sewing equipment. Understanding hand-sewing and alternation techniques. Knowledge of laundry equipment. Appropriate etiquette in fittings with actors. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
