Summary
The Cost Optimization Manager will drive operational and financial success by leading cost optimization initiatives across the organization. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to reduce expenses while maintaining or improving service and business performance. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to leverage data and technology to drive sustainable cost savings and operational excellence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conducts analysis of operational and financial data to identify opportunities for improvement and develop actionable strategies.Design and lead cross-functional improvement initiatives that reduce costs, enhance service delivery, and support sustainable growth . Influence and support change management efforts to ensure the successful adoption of new processes and initiatives across the organizationUtilize strong analytical skills to assess complex business problems, forecast impacts, and make data-driven recommendations.Provide senior leadership with insights, reporting and recommendations to achieve the strategic and financial goals.Creates, monitors, and responds to departmental performance metrics to drive continuous improvementCommunicates a clear vision, organizes resources effectively, and adjusts the strategy as needed when managing change.Track and monitor key cost metrics, set benchmarks and goals for expense reduction initiatives.Develop and implement scheduling and planning processes for merchandising initiatives across all locations.Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service, cost, and operational performance.Support budgeting processes by providing expense analysis and guidance.Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all reporting and analysis.Streamline expense tracking and reporting processes through automation and best practices.Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations related to expense management.Participate in audits and provide required documentation.Complete special projects and other duties assigned by your manager.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; MBA is a plus.6 years’ experience in financial analysis and reporting preferably within the retail or service industry; grocery industry experience is a plus.6 years’ Operational management experience in retail or service industry; grocery industry experience is a plus6 years’ Project Management experienceExperience in business transformation and process improvement roles using proven problem solving/continuous improvement methodologiesExperience with change management and influencing organizational culture changeProficiency in financial tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).Experienced with cost optimization strategies.Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 applications (*Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and web browsers (Google Chrome, Edge); familiarity with AI tools is a plus.Workplace Expectations
