Cost Modeling Engineer SCM

The Cost Modeling Engineer plays a important role in ensuring that Aptiv products are cost-competitive while maintaining high standards of quality and performance.

She/He becomes the purchasing expert for cost standards particularly for assembly purchase parts.

Your Role:

Advanced Cost Analysis: Conduct in-depth cost breakdowns related to raw components, processes, technologies and benchmarking, supporting the SCM Team and other cross-functional teams. Perform comprehensive cost analyses of Aptiv suppliers as part of the Continuous Improvement Team

Data Collection and Strategy Development: Gather and analyze essential data such as specifications, processes, capacities, timing, and quality certifications to maintain effective cost breakdowns. Utilize this information to develop strategic approaches with suppliers, focusing on long-term partnerships and continuous cost improvements.

Tool Development and Integration: support development and integration of advanced cost analysis tools within the Cost Modeling Team, including should-cost models, regression analysis methods (MLPP & LPP), index tracking tools and AI-powered cost models. Implement innovative methodologies to enhance cost prediction accuracy and decision-making processes

Continuous Improvement and Reporting: Propose and implement improvements in cost modeling processes, tracking and reporting their impact on overall cost efficiency. Support relevant Aptiv teams (Advance, Category) in identifying and engaging with suitable suppliers for new and ongoing programs, leading business case development

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Optimization: Collaborate closely with SCM cross-functional teams to optimize pricing through detailed cost breakdown analyses. Conduct benchmarking and market analysis of sub-suppliers, identifying cost-saving opportunities and visiting manufacturing plants and supplier sites to gain deeper insights.

Manufacturing, Financial and Logistics Insight: Understand and incorporate manufacturing, financial and logistics requirements into cost models and supplier negotiations.

Data Management and Utilization: Effectively use all sourcing databases to collect and analyze necessary information, supporting comprehensive cost management strategies
 

Your Background:

Master degree in Engineering/Business university

Very good level of communication skills in English 

Product/Manufacturing engineering experience

Technical documentation background      

Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
