Job Summary
Provide financial analysis and support to the manufacturing and supply chain organization for Transfusion & Transplant sites. Serve as a strategic partner and functional resource for site metrics, continuous improvement projects, inventory costing, variance analysis, and capital expenditures. The role provides guidance and support to help management understand financial performance, analyze new projects, and ensure accuracy in inventory costing.
Key Accountabilities
Provide operations management with financial support through reporting of operating expenses and ATGs (PPV, Absorption, Manufacturing Variances), including analysis of variances to budget, prior year, and forecastsPrepare, review, and analyze monthly financial transactions, inventory, COGS accounts, and operating expenses. Ensure accuracy and compliance with required internal controls.Review inventory at month-end and prepare inventory reconciliation and journal entries for the acccounting groupMonitor and report monthly manufacturing variances and support production departments to manage financial performance and mitigate risks Prepare budget and forecasts for operating expenses and ATG accounts, ensuring that the budget reflects the effect of future volumes on the site and cost structureWork closely with the IT and manufacturing teams to develop BOMs and routers in the ERPDevelop and maintain product costs as well as labor and overhead rates including the annual cost roll and inventory revaluationSupport year-end audit activities particularly in regards to inventory reportingIdentify and implement opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, including evaluating financial impact of actions under consideration by operations management team.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assignedReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
Networking/Key relationships
Develop good working relationships with managers of manufacturing and supply chain departmentsWork closely with accounting department to ensure consistency of reporting and compliance with internal policies, GAAP, and IFRS.Work closely with IT to maintain accurate reporting and data flows in ERP and test any changes that are proposed to account structure or mapping. QualificationsMinimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years work experience in cost accounting, financial reporting, or similar functions.Excellent analytical skillsProficient skills with Microsoft ExcelDemonstrated sense of urgencyExcellent interpersonal skillsManagement has the discretion of substituting relevant work experience for a degree and/or making exceptions to the years of experience requirement.
