Our Opening and Your ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a motivated and skilled Cost Engineer to join METTLER TOLEDO Safeline, our Metal Detection Strategic Business Unit based in Manchester.
In this role, you will lead cost analysis and improvement projects to enhance product profitability. You'll analyse financial and production data, monitor product costs, identify cost variances, and drive cost-saving initiatives across teams. You will also collaborate on new product cost estimations and lead continuous improvement in cost engineering processes.

What You'll Do:Monitor and report on product portfolio profit margins.Collect and analyse financial and production data to understand product profitability.Understand and review detailed product cost structures.Identify cost anomalies and investigate variances monthly.Track historical and target costs for all products.Prepare regular and strategic reports to align teams.Maintain dashboards and collaborate with business teams.Manage cost targets for all products and lead investigations when costs exceed set limits.Drive teamwork to find and implement cost-saving ideas.Analyse causes of cost changes due to operations or materials.Oversee corrective actions and ensure issues are resolved.Audit data processes to ensure accuracy.Work with Product Management on costing for new products.Lead the development of cost and value engineering best practices to improve processes continuously.What You Need to SucceedProven experience as a Cost Engineer, Cost Analyst, Cost Specialist or similar roleExperience in data, operational and financial analysisExperience within a manufacturing, engineering, or technical organisationExperience working within a Standard Cost environment and showing an understanding of Manufacturing VarianceStrong analytical skillsExtensive knowledge and experience of SAPExcellent working knowledge and skill within MS Excel applicationIdeally qualified to degree levelOur Offer to YouCompetitive salaryAnnual bonus schemeHybrid workingEarly finish on Fridays26 days holiday plus public holidaysEnhanced maternity and paternity leaveHoliday accrual scheme (earn up to 8 extra days holiday per year)4x salary life assurance24/7 access to free and confidential Employee Assistance Programme to support mental health and wellbeingCompany social eventsOpportunities for training and developmentAbout Mettler ToledoMETTLER TOLEDO is a global leader in precision instruments and services.
