JOB PURPOSE

Unilever Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) is a business worth in excess of 1bn AUD Turnover annually and which manufactures and sells well known household brands such as Omo (Breeze), Dove and Continental Foods.  The BMI and OVH budgets total more than 200m AUD combined.

The Cost Controller – BMI & OVH reports to the Performance Manager ANZ.

This role is responsible for the overall stewardship of BMI and Overheads spend and will need to command influence across functional teams and geographic boundaries in order to uphold and deliver Unilever’s Financial Control Framework as well as to maximise Value Creation for Unilever by championing Return on Investment and Zero Based Budgeting KPIs.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

The main purpose of this role is to provide Finance leadership in the following areas:

Controlling & GovernanceTools and Technology & Process ExcellenceValue Creation

Key Accountabilities:

Controlling & Governance

Manage the delivery of the BMI and OVH BudgetsSpot gaps and work with the business teams to close efficientlyUphold the local controls required to ensure optimal business performance

Tools and Tech & Process Excellence

Mastery of tools and technology required to deliver business efficiency

Value Creation

In collaboration with the Performance Manager and Head of Finance ANZ & APAC, develop and execute Value creation strategy for BMI & OVH in ANZ for the short, medium and long term setting and tracking key relevant KPIs

Talent & Teams

Key partner to Head of Finance ANZ and General Manager ANZChampion Efficiency in BMI & OVH, communicating clearly and regularly to key stakeholders

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

Chartered Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, CA) or MBA qualified, with 5+ years’ experiencePrevious Business Partnering experience preferredExperience with the identification of risks & opportunities in the P&L and Balance SheetExperience managing a large and complex set of stakeholdersExperience in presenting to and communicating with senior Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
