The Cost Accounting Sr Analyst is responsible for setting up and maintaining the accuracy of a standard cost system, perform review of material, labor and overhead plant costs and explain variances to production, review inventory transactions, seek cost improvement opportunities in the plant, month end closing and special projects by management.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Set standard costs of manufactured products as part of ERP revitalization project Develop and analyze cost standards Establish costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping etc. Recommend changes to company processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit Advise Leadership on appropriate costing based on financial data Collect and analyze data regarding the company's operational costs Carry out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis Facilitate meetings with production and review labor, material and overhead cost analysis Prepare weekly labor analysis for manufacturing Prepare audit reports and present findings to Leadership Perform the monthly financial closing including account reconciliations, setting Inventory reserves, maintain accuracy of Inventory cost at Item level, review inventory transactions, explain monthly cost variances to standard costs Manage the company's balance sheet and accounting books Prepare job costs for new products Support other company Accountants with capital expenditure and special projects Prepare monthly reconciliation on various accounts. 5+ years of experience as a Cost Accounting Analyst in a Manufacturing environment Understanding of Sales & Operation Planning In depth knowledge of BOM, routing, Inventory, raw materials, WIP, FG Advanced knowledge of mathematics and statistics Understanding of organizational accounting concepts Strong Financial Analysis skills Ability to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available data Superior knowledge of financial reporting software tools and ERP software. Prefer to have NetSuite (ERP) experience. Strong excel skills, advanced formulas, pivot tables, database, graphs and PowerPoint. In-depth knowledge of financial guidelines and regulations Strong business acumen and the ability to interact with multiple levels of the organization. Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting. Ability to organize work and projects, prioritize and meet deadlines. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar required
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position works in an office environment and as is the nature of our business is exposed to manufacturing operations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
