Cost Accounting Lead
**Overview** The Cost Accounting Lead is a hybrid role that combines hands-on cost accounting responsibilities with leadership of the billing function. This position supports the Aftermarket Solutions business unit by managing cost analysis, inventory control, and financial reporting, while also supervising two billing specialists. The role reports directly to the Controller and plays a key part in driving operational efficiency, financial accuracy, and team development. **Responsibilities** + Prepare and analyze monthly closing reports and journal entries + Reconcile perpetual inventory balances to the general ledger and resolve variances + Review and evaluate overhead burden rates and set standard costs + Analyze and report margins by product and customer category + Conduct inbound and outbound freight analysis + Coordinate and reconcile annual physical inventory counts + Prepare capital expenditure requests and support cost improvement initiatives + Collaborate with operations to improve procedures and efficiencies **Team Supervision & Billing Oversight** + Supervise and support two billing specialists + Monitor billing accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls + Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to billing staff + Serve as a liaison between billing, finance, and operations teams + Identify and implement process improvements in billing workflows **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree required + 5+ years of overall applicable experience + 2+ years of experience in cost accounting, inventory control, or financial analysis + Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred + Proficiency in Oracle and Microsoft Excel (Power BI a plus) + Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills + Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments **Preferred Attributes:** + Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments + Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities + Familiarity with standard costing, variance analysis, and KPI reporting Benefits: + Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance + 401k with Company Matching Contribution + Discretionary 401k Company Contribution + Tuition Reimbursement Program + Life/Disability Insurance + Maternity and Paternity Leave + Panasonic Employee Discounts + 15 Days Paid Vacation and 12 Company Holidays + Employee Assistance Program + And more About Hussmann: For more than 100 years, Hussmann Corporation has been a leader in providing innovative products, services and refrigeration systems for grocers and convenience stores.
