Description We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team in Homewood, Illinois. This role is integral to ensuring accurate cost analysis and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cost accounting practices, inventory management, and financial reconciliations. The role will offer an annual salary between 80K and 98K with medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401k and paid time off. Responsibilities: • Perform detailed cost analysis, including product and job cost evaluations, to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Manage manufacturing cost accounting processes, including standard cost accounting and variance analysis. • Oversee inventory tracking and reconciliation to maintain accurate data and compliance. • Support month-end close activities by preparing relevant financial reports and reconciliations. • Conduct financial analyses to identify trends and support decision-making processes. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in all cost accounting activities. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline cost accounting practices and enhance efficiency. • Provide insights and recommendations for cost reduction and process improvement. • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and internal reviews. Requirements • Proven experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing setting. • Strong knowledge of standard cost accounting practices and cost analysis. • Proficiency in inventory management and reconciliations. • Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Proficiency in relevant accounting software and tools.
