Cost Accountant
Description Are you skilled in cost analysis and financial management, and passionate about making an impact in the non-profit sector? Our client, a mission-driven organization, is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to help them optimize financial resources and ensure transparency in managing program budgets. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your expertise in accounting with meaningful work that supports the community. Key Responsibilities: + Cost Analysis: Monitor and allocate costs for programs, grants, and operations to ensure compliance with funding requirements. + Budget Management: Collaborate with program managers to create and manage budgets, and track actuals vs. projections across programs. + Grant Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports for grant providers, including cost breakdowns and expense allocation. + Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal, state, and non-profit accounting regulations. + Data Insights: Provide financial insights to leadership by analyzing cost trends and identifying opportunities for operational efficiency. + Internal Controls: Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets, and assist with audit preparations. Requirements + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred. + Experience: 3+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in the non-profit industry. + Knowledge: Strong familiarity with fund accounting, grant management, and compliance standards specific to non-profits. + Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Fund EZ, or Sage Intacct, and advanced MS Excel skills. + Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. + Values Alignment: Passion for the mission-driven work of non-profits and a commitment to integrity and accountability.
