Cost Accountant

Key Responsibilities + Analyze manufacturing and operational costs to identify trends and insights that drive financial decision-making. + Develop and maintain cost reporting systems, including standard costs, variance analysis, and profitability metrics. + Review inventory valuations, ensuring accurate calculations and compliance with company policies. + Perform month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, R& D) to develop budgets and monitor costs associated with projects and production. + Support the preparation of financial statements and provide audit-ready documentation for internal and external audits. + Recommend process improvements to enhance cost tracking and reduce operational inefficiencies. Requirements + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA, CMA, or equivalent designation is a plus. + Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing, production, or similar environment. + Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and cost modeling). + Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret complex data sets, assess variances, and deliver actionable insights. + Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and data analysis. + Communication Skills: Effective collaboration and communication skills to explain complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
