Cost Accountant
Description Company Overview: Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Cost Accountant to join their growing team. This opportunity is ideal for accounting professionals looking to deepen their expertise in cost analysis and contribute to the financial health of a dynamic manufacturing organization. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare and analyze cost reports to provide valuable insights into cost control and efficiency improvements. + Perform routine and ad hoc standard cost roll-ups and updates while tracking variances. + Collaborate with the operations and manufacturing teams to monitor inventory accuracy, perform reconciliations, and evaluate cost-saving opportunities. + Develop and maintain inventory valuation procedures, including periodic physical inventory audits and reconciliation. + Identify and assess key cost drivers, variances, and inefficiencies that could impact profitability. + Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives for the manufacturing operation. + Support internal and external audits as necessary, ensuring the accuracy of cost-related financial data. + Recommend improvements to cost accounting processes to streamline operations and enhance reporting precision. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + Minimum 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within the manufacturing environment. + Strong knowledge of cost control principles, inventory processes, and GAAP compliance. + Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. + Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to explain complex financial data. + Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments. + CPA, CMA, or related advanced certifications are a plus but not required.
