Description We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing team in Elyria, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for managing product costing, maintaining accurate inventory data, and providing insights to enhance cost reliability and accuracy. Reporting directly to the Cost Accounting Supervisor, you will play a critical role in supporting both operational and financial decision-making. Responsibilities: • Configure and maintain new finished goods items in the system, specifically for blades and bits. • Develop and update product Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing processes. • Collaborate with Process Engineering and Manufacturing leaders to establish organizational structures. • Conduct cost estimation and pricing for customer inquiries, including non-catalog items. • Provide daily support to Customer Service by supplying accurate cost and pricing information for orders. • Work with the IT department to design new cost reports and enhance existing ones. • Assist with the implementation of new cost management software systems. • Support external auditors during year-end audits to ensure accuracy and timeliness. • Undertake various cost-related projects and other duties as assigned. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment. • Proficiency in standard cost accounting practices. • Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting principles. • Demonstrated expertise in cost analysis and financial analysis. • Familiarity with inventory control and inventory analysis. • Advanced skills in managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product costing. • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and customer service. • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
