Description We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team in Saint Louis, Missouri. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to financial accuracy and operational efficiency within the retail sector. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cost accounting processes and a strong understanding of accounting systems. Responsibilities: • Analyze and manage cost accounting processes to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Prepare and reconcile journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records. • Monitor and evaluate inventory accounting and inventory analysis for accuracy. • Handle accounts payable (AP) functions and ensure timely processing of invoices. • Conduct audits and provide detailed reports to support financial compliance. • Oversee budgeting processes and track cash activity to align with company goals. • Manage prepaid assets and ensure proper documentation and accounting. • Utilize accounting software systems, including D365, to streamline operations. • Generate financial reports using tools like Crystal Reports and Epicor. Requirements • Proven experience in cost accounting within a retail or similar industry. • Proficiency in accounting software systems, including D365 and Epicor. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and auditing practices. • Experience with inventory accounting and analysis. • Ability to handle journal entries and account reconciliation with precision. • Familiarity with budget processes and cash activity tracking. • Expertise in financial reporting tools such as Crystal Reports. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
