We are searching for an experienced Cosnultancy - Communication and (I)NGO Partnership Advisor at our Sudan facility. 

Project Overview:

The Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE) is a 7-year and €134 million programme funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that aims to create a prosperous future for 230,000 young women and men in the Middle East, North Africa, Sahel & West Africa and Horn of Africa regions. The Fund will be supporting initiatives in 12 focus countries that will offer youth, in particular young women, opportunities for work that is demand-driven and productive, offering a stable income and safe working conditions, and that is contributing to their personal development and social protection.
The portfolio of projects is selected from business cases that were proposed by private sector, civil society and knowledge institutions. Each business case has outlined scalable solutions for creating more and better jobs and income generating opportunities for youth. Solutions in particular focus on an integrated approach that addresses the shortcomings on the demand side (jobs) and supply side (skills) and bridging the mismatch between these two in the labour market.

Background:

Founded in 2018, Alsalam Factory is a Sudanese social enterprise dedicated to producing eco-friendly reusable sanitary pads and other sustainable personal care products. With over 7 years of industrial experience, Alsalam Factory is rooted in social responsibility, offering meaningful employment to formerly incarcerated women, youth, and displaced populations. Our products are primarily supplied to INGOs, local NGOs, and humanitarian suppliers* operating in Sudan and across the region.

Objective of the Role:

Positioning Alsalam Factory as the preferred national supplier of reusable sanitary pads and dignity kits among international and local humanitarian organizations by building and maintaining strong, results-driven partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Communication and Branding:

- Develop a communication and visibility strategy targeting INGOs and local NGOs.
- Craft compelling content: corporate capability statements, success stories, social impact profiles, and product marketing materials.

2. Partnership Development:

- Map a network of decision-makers and procurement leads in top INGOs and humanitarian agencies.
- Identify partnership opportunities aligned with Alsalam's mission and production capacity.

3. Business Development & Fundraising:

- Facilitate Letters of Intent (LoIs), Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), and supply agreements with INGO partners.
- Support grant proposal writing and donor engagement for capacity expansion or innovation projects.
- Collaborate with the internal team to align production capacity with market demand.

4. Contracting and Procurement Facilitation:

⁠- Advise on packaging Alsalam’s offerings to meet the technical and social procurement requirements of international donors.
- Help negotiate long-term contracts with large INGOs and regional buyers.

Deliverables:

- Communications Strategy
- Letters of Intent or MoUs signed with NGOs or procurement agents
⁠- Secure 1–2 long-term supply contracts (6–12 months) with major INGO(s) within the first year.
- Developed communication toolkit and visibility material customized for donor and NGO use.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

⁠- Proven track record in NGO partnership development, communications, or fundraising within Sudan or similar humanitarian contexts.
- Strong network and access to INGO decision-makers and procurement leads.
- Demonstrated ability to close partnership deals and support business growth.
⁠- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
⁠- Understanding of humanitarian procurement standards and local production constraints.

Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge of *menstrual hygiene management (MHM) or WASH sector standards is a plus.
- Previous experience in social enterprise or private sector engagement in humanitarian supply chains.
- Fluent in Arabic and English.

Level of Effort and Reporting:

The timeline for this assignment is 1st of October to end of February (5 months).
