Your mission, roles and responsibilitiesThe overall role of a COS (CAx Operations Support) Administrator is to install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot IT client computers and servers for Engineering, ensure high availability and performance of Engineering related applications and hardware, and support the IT needs of the R&D community.
• Deploy, install, configure, test, support and monitor Windows & Unix (Red Hat, 7/8, Ubuntu) client machines and servers (including Virtual Servers).
• Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and support CAx applications homologated in the Forvia environment (CATIA V5, NX, Autodesk, Solidworks, Teamcenter, Hyperworks, etc.)
• Ensure hardware and software conform to organizational standards and policies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automotive OEM connectivity issues
• Maintain and update documentation of environment, procedures, and inventory.
• Provide level 2 technical support for Engineering department end users.
• Bachelors degree or 3 years relevant experience
• Language Skills: Bilingual – Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
• 3 years of recent systems administration experience with multiple operating systems (Windows 11, Windows server, Red Hat, Ubuntu, VMWare, etc.)
• Functional level of Linux support experience (knowledge of NFS, basic system administration, software deployment on rhel and ubuntu).
• Knowledge of Virtual Servers (VMware) and Monitoring Tools (Nagios and CheckMk) is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of IT Networks (WAN, LAN, VLAN)
• Technical knowledge of supporting recent versions for CATIA, NX, Teamcenter, and CAE applications (like Hyperworks, LS-Dyna, Abuqus, GT-Power, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of IT Networks (WAN, LAN, VLAN)
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in case of high-pressure environments.
• Able to work and communicate in a multi-cultural environment
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills is a must
• Must be able to work effectively in a de-centralized environment, independently or with a team given structured project tasks
• Must be willing to work occasional week-ends or off peak hours to support upgrade scenarios or production outage situations and must be available for occasional travel
