Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Chief of Emergency Response at our Cortez operations. The successful candidate will coach, lead and mentor an ERT team.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Emergency Response Team General Supervisor, the Chief Emergency Preparedness and Response is responsible for the following:
Professional development of the Surface or Underground Emergency Response Team (ERT) ERT training and equipment needs assessments Maintaining site emergency response equipment and facilities Coordinating site emergency preparedness training and readiness Support, sustain and improve upon Incident Command Center (ICC) training Surface or underground team rescue training plans Assist with the maintenance of Emergency Medical Services training plan, certification, licensing, and permitting Compliance with Emergency Response regulatory requirements at the corporate, local, state, and federal levels ERT budget development and management Evaluating with team coordinators the training needs for emergency services personnel and building those requirements into an annual training schedule Bring to the attention of the site Senior Leadership as soon as practical any deficiencies to the site Emergency Response Plan that exposes the site to unacceptable risk Develop, review and revise site Emergency Response Plan and incident pre-plans annually or as needed Communicate and maintain relations with outside or third-party emergency response services that may respond to assist with site incidents Perform Safety & Health on-call responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Six (6) years of active participation on a Mine Rescue Team required Three (3) years Mine Rescue Coordinator and/or supervisory experience preferred Ability to be self-directed and work with minimal supervision required MM- Metal/Non-Metal MSHA certified instructor (SI- Surface Instructor, UI- Underground Instructor, and/or MR- Mine Rescue Instructor) or the ability to obtain certification with in one (1) year required Possess or obtain Nevada State EMT Basic certification within one (1) year required Possess or obtain Nevada State EMT Advanced certification within two (2) years required EMS Instructor endorsement or obtain within in two (2) years required Experience in training, scheduling and presentations preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills required Excellent computer skills required Exemplary safety performance required Demonstrated ability to perform all essential function of this role required Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local EMR/EMT regulations required Ability to lead and supervise Mine Rescue Team (MRT) in emergency situations required Willingness to cross-train in other functions within Safety & Health Team requiredWhat We Can Offer You
