Summary -

Reuters Bangalore is looking for Correspondents to report on companies in Asia’s third-largest economy. The ideal candidate will be at ease writing and snapping the biggest stories across Indian companies, financial markets, and the top breaking news items in the region.

The India team writes stories on everything from flailing fintechs to conglomerates led by some of Asia’s richest men, while also tracking the twists and turns in one of the world’s fastest growing stock markets. The team also spearheads economic data coverage in the Indian and Sri Lankan markets and delivers high profile breaking news alerts to clients at speed.

About the role -

We are looking for an astute reporter and/or snapper who can think on their feet.

The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task under intense pressure and will have a track record of covering spot stories with accuracy, speed, and freedom of bias.The successful candidate will work closely with the India Co-EICs and play an active role in the team’s efforts to build expertise, chase leads, and cultivate in-depth story ideas for our global audience. They will also play a pivotal role in driving speed operations, automation responsibilities, and data-driven decision-making while actively collaborating with our stakeholders.The candidate must also be able to actively support the team’s reporting and snapping objectives. Experience in covering Indian companies is an advantage, while the ability to tackle news with speed and accuracy is essential.

About you -

Have at least two years of experience in reporting or speed operationsWrite major stories across sectors and/or lead speed projectsBuild sector knowledge and contribute to a rich and diverse fileBe familiar with editorial tools and embrace new technologies and workflowsSpearhead discussions and initiatives around automation and AI usage in the team's speed operationsSupport the team's efforts to meet quality targets for accuracy and speed, and continually improve its performanceCommunicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to coordinate coverage and ensure the smooth operation of the team on a daily basisExperience using Reuters editorial tools, such as Lynx Fastwire, will be an advantage
