DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you will oversee inmate work, including tasks related to the operation, maintenance, and repair of the boiler plant at SCI Greene. One of your primary goals will be to ensure the efficient operation of heating and cooling equipment, both under normal and emergency conditions. You will also be in charge of utilizing manual and automatic control systems, as well as reading and interpreting visual and aural gauges, meters, and sensing devices. Furthermore, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining auxiliary equipment, such as feed water pumps, condensate pumps, and chemical feed pumps. Work Schedule and Additional Information: + Full-time employment, 40 hours per week + Work hours are 2:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Sunday - Saturday, with rotating days off. + This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. + Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes).
