Prior corrections officer or law enforcement background preffered!

 Hourly compensation will start at $18.00 per hour, with a part-time schedule (including weekends) and will recieve paid training.

   Responsibilities The Admin for this position will work in a correctional facility setting and will be responsible for duties to include:Oversee and monitor the activities of the intake and release areas.Complete all daily information forms necessary in processing offenders in/out of the facility.Update computer upon arrivals/departures of offenders.Update count board upon arrival/departure of offenders. Operate Fingerprinting for incoming offenders.Ensure all arriving offenders receive appropriate identification, including ID and wristband.Responsible for completion of inventory of property for incoming/outgoing offenders.Properly identify each offender scheduled to be released.Notify necessary departments of pending incoming/outgoing offenders. Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check

• Ability to handle physical and mental stress associated with working extended hours.

• Must be able to regularly report to work without being late.

• Ability to be physically alert on any shift that is assigned.

• Work experience in a correctional setting is preferred.

• May be required to possess a valid state driver’s license.

• Must be mature, flexible, able to command the respect and confidence of inmates or detainees and staff, philosophically committed to the objectives of the facility, and possess a high tolerance to mental stress.

 

Preferred Qualifications of Security Officers

• 1 year experience as a security or corrections officer
