New York Life is seeking an experienced and skilled Scrum Master that will be a member of the Enterprise Technology Services Team and facilitate multiple cross-functional technology programs. This opportunity provides the right individual with an opportunity to play a critical role in New York Life’s Technology Transformation Strategy. The individual will play a crucial role in overseeing Lean Portfolio Management and ensuring that the portfolio’s work aligns with its strategic themes and financial goals and those of the broader organization. Experience with modern full stack technology infrastructure patterns is critical. Experience with core infrastructure, cloud, Kubernetes, and microservices platforms is essential. The individual in this role will interface with all areas of the technology organization, sponsor PI Planning to maintain a “six quarter walk” and ensure financial targets are met withing each program. Reporting program status to key stakeholders and senior leadership is a core responsibility of this role.
The individual should be well versed in infrastructure technology with 10+ years of experience with successful large scale program delivery. The individual should expect to operate a work environment where the following activities are common expectations:
Agile Facilitation: Facilitate all core Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement. Coach teams in Agile principles, helping them self-organize and improve delivery velocity and predictability. Program Managemento Direct large scale, complex projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders and matrix partners
o Rigorously manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost and quality parameters
o Manage project risks and mitigation or contingency plans
o Defining, planning, orchestrating, timely project communications, including periodic status reports
Team Support & Delivery Enablement: Remove blockers and resolve conflicts that may impact sprint goals or team cohesion. Work with Product Owners to ensure backlog items are well-groomed and prioritized. Track sprint progress, manage burn-down charts, and report on team performance metrics. Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT support, collaboration tools teams, network operations, and facilities management. Ensure alignment of team deliverables with larger enterprise IT and workplace experience strategies. Device provisioning and lifecycle management (laptops, mobile phones, tablets). End-user software deployment and support (e.g., Microsoft 365, security tools, design or engineering-specific apps). Collaboration tools (Zoom, Teams). Audio-visual and conference room support, including hybrid meeting enablement. Service Scope may Include: Portfolio Management:o Validate financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and other project expenditures
o Represent projects in various project governance and inter department forums
Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of feedback and learning through retrospectives and team development sessions. Recommend process improvements and contribute to Agile maturity assessments within the departmentRequired Skills:
· 8+ yrs of overall IT experience
· 10+ years of experience with managing large, complex, multi-year IT programs
· Certified Scrum Master
· Developing complex multi-million-dollar business cases
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Executive presence with high business & technical acumen
· Strong facilitation skills for large-scale events and workshops
· Ability to build and lead integrated teams from various internal and external organizations across multiple sites
· Ability to work directly with business stakeholders and technical/product team
· Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience facilitating Agile ceremonies
· Proficiency in Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence
Desired Skills:
· Familiarity with end user technologies, IT support workflows, or device/software lifecycle processes
· Ability to apply business and technical understanding to strategies, problems and decisions
· Ability to solve problems independently and to assume higher level leadership responsibilities in critical situations

· Solid background in Cloud Service provider product offerings – AWS, Azure
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field is a plus, but not required
