Corporate Vice President, Business Unit Risk Officer and Risk Insights/Assessments Lead

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Business Unit Risk Officer and Risk Insights/Assessments Lead to manage risk oversight and assurance for two dynamic and evolving business units and co-lead a risk assessments team. This senior-level leader will serve as the primary point of contact for risk matters impacting both business units, ensuring risk is effectively identified, assessed, mitigated, and reported. They will proactively identify risk insights and recommend control improvements during risk assessments and reviews.

The ideal candidate brings at least 10 years of experience in risk management and/or program management and demonstrates a proven ability to navigate complex organizational structures while leading high-performing risk teams.

This position offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with executive leadership, compliance, legal, internal audit, and business partners to foster a strong risk culture and deliver value-added insights.

What You’ll Do:

Serve as the primary risk officer for two business units, developing a deep understanding of their operations, objectives, and risk landscape. Lead a team responsible for conducting risk reviews and assessments across insurance business unit operations, initiatives, and programs. Maintain effective risk management frameworks, tools, and processes in alignment with enterprise risk standards. Partner with business leaders to identify, monitor, and address key risk exposures and emerging risks. Proactively identify risks and solutions to safeguard business operations and recommend control improvement opportunities. Share cross-business risk insights to empower business teams with actionable information and enhance overall risk management and awareness. Present risk findings, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership and governance committees. Lead the talent development, coaching, and performance management of a small team of risk professionals. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance risk oversight efficiency, data quality, and reporting.

What You’ll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Risk Management, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CRMP, PMP, CRCM, CIA) preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in risk management, program management, internal audit, or related functions. Proven leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional projects in a matrixed organization. Deep understanding of risk frameworks, governance, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices. Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience building partnerships with senior business leaders and influencing decision-making

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $155,000-$267,500 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
