ABOUT OUR ROLE

Bank Account Management team under the Corporate Treasury Payment Pillar is seeking a driven and dedicated professional who is looking to partner with teams across the firm as well as our bank relationships to maximize commercial and operational value for the firm.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Bank Account Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the organization's bank accounts, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. This role involves maintaining relationships with banking partners, optimizing banking structures, and working closely with multiple divisions across the firm to accomplish its goals. Daily tasks include but are not limited to the following: 

Oversee the opening, closing, and maintenance of the firm's cash and securities bank accounts, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared accurately and coordinating efficiently with banking institutions. Manage the firm's cash and securities accounts, including client-specific accounts in various markets.Maintain accurate records of all bank accounts, including account details, authorized signatories, and banking agreements.Work with agent banks and internal teams to complete onboarding and periodic Know Your Customer (KYC) Due Diligence processes for Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., and its subsidiaries. Complete bank account dormancy reviews by partnering with agent banks and business units to determine eligibility. Collaborate with internal divisions to execute industry and regulatory initiatives. Evaluate new business proposals to assess impact to account management requirements with agent bank network. Escalate issues and challenges in the process and suggest procedural updates that can enhance processes / workflow. 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in operations, with direct experience in bank account or relationship management being an advantage.Strong analytical and organizational skills. Highly detail oriented. Ability to operate independently and effectively drive multiple business initiatives. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders in various global locations, both internally and externally. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Knowledge of the securities industry/trade/payment life cycles will be considered an advantageFamiliarity with industry guidelines and concepts (e.g. KYC) will be a useful background.Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment. Proficiency in business Mandarin Chinese is critical, in both verbal and written communication. The role requires daily interactions with local vendors in China, reviewing legal documents and drafting official statements in Mandarin Chinese, so proficient knowledge and comfort in Mandarin Chinese language will be required.Strong interest and drive to learn and grow in the banking and financial industry.

Candidate must be proactive, enthusiastic and team oriented.Ability to remain composed under pressure. Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize at short notice. Adaptive to new changes and new challenges. Strong client service orientation.
