Description We are looking for a skilled Corporate Tax Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will bring their expertise in tax accounting, particularly in corporate and sales tax, to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial processes. This position offers an opportunity to work in the dynamic telecom services industry. Responsibilities: • Conduct detailed reconciliations of financial information to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Research and interpret sales tax laws to maintain proper adherence to regulations. • Prepare and review corporate tax returns with precision and attention to detail. • Record journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records. • Manage general ledger accounts and ensure proper documentation. • Collaborate with team members to address tax-related inquiries and resolve issues. • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions. • Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to support findings. • Ensure timely submission and filing of tax-related documents. • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance. Requirements • Proven experience in corporate tax accounting and related processes. • Strong knowledge of sales tax laws and regulations. • Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns. • Expertise in recording journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Ability to research and resolve tax issues efficiently. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
