Position Overview:

The Tax Accounting and Compliance team with the Corporate Controller - Finance is seeking a Corporate Tax Senior to support the team's responsibilities. The Tax Accounting and Compliance team is responsible for income tax accounting (ASC740) and related disclosure, the filing of various corporate tax returns, performing tax sensitive scenario and data analysis, and managing tax controversy matters.

This position has various responsibilities, including income tax accounting, tax compliance, IRS audit and interfacing with both finance and non-finance professionals across multiple business units, providing tax and other accounting support for business decisions.

Your Impact:

Working closely with other members of the tax team or business area accounting partners to explore the tax system requirement gather information to support the determination of tax advantaged accounting methods, the resolution of tax controversies, or the determination of tax systems requirementsApplying ASC 740 - Accounting for income taxes in the preparation and analysis of the quarterly and annual effective tax rate, deferred taxes, tax related balance sheet reconciliations, provision to return, and tax footnotesLeading tax projects, identifying tax problems and developing solutionsPreparing or reviewing calculations and schedules to support the determination of various tax payments and the filing of various tax returns, including Freddie Mac's federal income tax return

Qualifications:

Proficiency in Workday or PeopleSoft, MS packages and familiarity with tax compliance software5-8+ years of experience and background in ASC740 Accounting for income tax and tax compliance2+ years of management skills with proven knowledge of project management, tax planning and best practices implementationBachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Very strong attention to detail with critical thinking and organization skillsProactively manage projects, and follow through on tasks, effectively share progress/results with supervisor in a clear and concise manner.Self-starter and ability to work independently, solve problems, and achieve results while managing multiple prioritiesBe able to leverage your tax, finance services experience especially with mortgage industry and data analysis expertise to support tax accounting, tax compliance, and tax analysis functions in an environment of continuous process improvement

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $97,000 - $145,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
