Purpose of Role: You will play a crucial role in leading the further development and implementation of the Group’s established Risk Management and Controls framework, ensuring effective risk identification, assessment, and reporting across the business. This role is key to maintaining ongoing compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code, supporting the Group Head of Risk & Insurance, and driving best practice in risk management and controls throughout our organisation

Champion the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, collaborating with global and divisional teams to embed effective risk processes, tools, and best practices.Take ownership of the Group’s Risk Management policy, controls, and integrated risk systems, ensuring robust compliance with Provision 29 of the UK Corporate Governance Code and supporting Board-level assuranceDeliver insightful risk analysis and reporting by collating, presenting, and interpreting the Group’s enterprise risk profile, conducting horizon scanning, and providing strategic recommendations to influence business strategy.Empower our organisation through targeted risk management training, active participation in governance forums, and close partnership with Internal Audit and principal risk owners to drive a strong risk culture and operational excellenceSafety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field is required.Professional certification in risk management or internal controls (such as IRM, CIRM, or equivalent) is highly desirable.Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management and controls frameworks within complex organisations, ideally with practical industry application beyond consultancy.Strong background in controls, internal audit, or enterprise risk management, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and deliver effective training across business unitsWe are Weir!
