Oversees M&T’s Corporate Reuse department focused on the acquisition, distribution, and disposition of goods, materials, and resources. Defines and implements a strategy which identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, maintain flexibility, and ensure business readiness.
Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for ongoing strategic planning and management of departmental daily activities. Manage assigned staff, including oversight of training and development of team focused on resale, charitable contributions and processing of technology.Manage and coordinate the collection of all materials (equipment, electronics, furniture, artwork, etc.) no longer in use by the Bank; ensure completion of on-site inspections to accurately record identification and tracking data, determine any required refurbishments, and select appropriate disposition channel.Maintain overall responsibility for the cost center budget, including tracking and reporting financial impacts from sales, cost avoidance, and savings tactics; advises Business Units.Manage the facilitation of the life-cycle processes for all computing devices (desktops, laptops, thin clients, printers and micro readers) to include preparing and programming for initial start-of-life use and decommissioning and disposition processes at end-of-life.Act as the distribution channel between Technology and the enterprise to prepare and deploy equipment and resources quickly and efficiently to end users.Execute end-of-life processing of technology equipment to securely erase confidential bank information in accordance with Privacy laws. Repurpose the asset in a manner most beneficial to M&T Bank. Maintain all electronic devices subject to legal hold, ensuring accountability and security.Coordinate the movement of new and old physical assets (technology equipment, office items, furniture, etc.) between buildings for employee relocations.Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers (recyclers, wholesale outlets, auction networks, professional organizations, etc.) for the sale and disposal of Bank assets. Focused on maximizing efficiency of disposals and return to the Bank, and meeting legal and regulatory requirements. Manage a retail showroom/outlet for the sale of unused or unwanted goods to employees and external parties.Facilitate the charitable donation of tangible assets to groups approved by the M&T Bank Charitable Foundation. Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.Complete other related duties as assigned.Scope of Responsibilities:This position interacts with all levels of employees across the footprint. Interacts with the public at large on a daily basis as part of the sales function of the Sonwil showroom. Occasionally interacts with Bank customers in coordinating Charitable donations. Position has operational risk management responsibilities associated with technology equipment decommissioning. This position does require travel.
Education and Experience Required:Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in logistics/asset management/supply chain, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years’ experience in logistics/asset management/supply chain
Minimum of 2 years’ work leadership, supervisory and/or managerial experience
Strong customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of asset system management and accounting practices
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time throughout the footprint
Ability to be on-call after hours, including weekends and holidays
Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Supply Chain Management
In-depth understanding of computer system functional components in personal computers and servers
Experience with Intranet/online sales/auction platforms (eBay, etc.)
Physical Requirements:Ability to communicate with individuals using a telephone. Ability to hear and speak effectively on phone. Ability to express or exchange ideas by spoken word and communicate verbally with others accurately and quickly.
