POSITION CONCEPT

This position is primarily responsible for managing and optimizing customs processes, either at a local or at a LATAM level.Main target is to act as the focal Customs contact for internal (e.g. SBU, other Chemours departments) and external (e.g. Customs authorities, agents) customers/parties, ensuring Customs compliance within Chemours processes.Depending on assigned area of expertise, the Foreign Trade Senior Specialist will perform a different role/tasks.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure and support compliant and timely import and export transactions/processes (e.g . instructions/SOP’s to external agents, reconciliation and reporting of internal customs transactions, application for customs licenses / authorizations, origin calculation, tariffication).Check customs duty calculation and preparation of customs duty payment.Ensure and support compliant and timely excise transactions/processes.Support, lead specific customs and logistics projects.Support and assist in Chemours Customs Internal control program and Import/Export compliance reporting.Support the management for compliance for trade programs such as IMMEX, VAT Certification and AEO Certification.Attend any requests for information from local authorities, internal and external auditors for trade and financial affairs, to ensure the company´s compliance.Provide guidance and training in customs related activities for SBUs.Drive continuous process improvement in Customs team LATAM, under guidance of the Global team leader Customs, and in close cooperation with other Customs specialists/assistants in the team, to ensure compliance and optimize productivity and efficiency, aiming to meet the needs of all stakeholders: external (eg Customs) and internal (SBU’s, S&L, Finance).Ensure maintenance, upgrade and expansion of processes and procedures.Look for opportunities in the customs duty management regimes (e.g. IPR/OPR, bonded warehouse).Communicate effectively any changes in regulations, legislation or any applicable affair for customs operations.Root cause analysis and resolution for customs non settlements (e.g. transit documents, confirmations of exit, excise documents) with respective teams.Primary contact for Customs authorities in external controls on Chemours´ various Customs arrangements.Chemours Customs Systems  key user.Analyze market situation and buy customs clearance services.Primary contact for Chamber of Commerce activities.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION

Bachelor Logistics/Customs/International Trade or equal by experience (3 – 5 years work experience)

SKILLS

Effective communication skillsCapability to develop and apply statistical and computer skillsAbility to drive change and deliver resultsOpenness to change, proactively seeking optimization and continuous improvementNetworking capability and good interpersonal skillsSix Sigma Green Belt is a plusLanguage: English proficiency.Computer skills: MS Office, Internet, e-mail, basic knowledge of SAP environment
