Corporate Engagement Director

The Salvation Army Mission Statement:

Basic Purpose
This position's primary role is to build and cultivate relationships with major corporations within the division. Acting as the point of contact between the Development Department and the corporate community, The Corporate Engagement Director (CED) will manage a caseload of corporations that can contribute resources to help achieve established annual goals and support the overall mission and vision of The Salvation Army. The CED will have an annual financial goal and will track all progress with accounts in the donor management software. This position reports direction to the Divisional Director of Development.

Volunteer Duties & Responsibilities
1. Build relationships with top executives and CEOs throughout the Division's geographic region and present The Salvation Army's mission and programs to them through office visits, correspondence, conversations and Salvation Army facility tours.
2. Monitor Salvation Army institutional needs and match them to potential corporate benefactors.
3. Research and identify major corporations volunteer programs, and in conjunction with Salvation Army facilities and programs, facilitate volunteer opportunities through these corporate structures.
4. Develop, maintain, and steward a caseload of donors and set annual goals for each account.
5. Track all actions with these donors using donor management software.
6. Solicit and secure gifts-in-kind for programs and clients from corporations. Coordinate closely with corps and programs to ensure appropriateness of donation.
7. Solicit and secure gifts from CEOs and their company to meet specified annual fundraising goals.
8. Identify corporate foundations and develop strategies with the Foundations Department on most efficient approach to the foundation for funding.
9. Work collaboratively with Territorial Headquarters' Corporate Relations department on any relationships or partnerships that may have impact or potential that extends beyond the divisional boundaries.
10. Give tours, presentations and reports on Salvation Army programs, facilities and ministry to corporate executives, Boards, Employee groups and Service Clubs.
11. Develop and maintain a database of alt existing corporate contacts and partnerships. Maintain good records of all contacts.
12. Stay in contact and steward the relationships with reports, and through mail, phone calls, texting, email, social media and site visits.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Additional Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree
2. Previous experience working within a corporation as a CEO or High Level Executive or 3-5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience with marked success engaging corporations
4. Experience with nonprofit boards
5. Experience with and knowledge of the local corporate community
6. Proficient in a Windows environment (Microsoft Office) Outlook, Excel
7. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
8. Excellent organizational, written and communication skills
9. Ability to maintain a professional rapport with the public, officers and DHQ team
10. Ability to work in a high- pressure environment
11. Valid driver's license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
• Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
• Ability to reach overhead
• Ability to operate telephone
• Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
• Ability to operate a computer
• Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
• Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools
• Travel within Northern CA, Reno and Carson City required
• Ability to work onsite during an Emergency Disaster

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
 Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle

Must complete the Salvation Army vehicle course training

Must be 21 years of age or older to drive a Salvation Army vehicle

Must provide consent to a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
