Description We are partnering with a global social media and technology company that is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its legal team on a 6-month contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams—particularly marketing and brand—to provide strategic legal guidance, develop policies, and safeguard the company against legal and compliance risks. The ideal candidate is a proactive, business-minded attorney with strong corporate experience and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Key Responsibilities + Provide day-to-day legal counseling on corporate and commercial matters, with a focus on supporting marketing, brand, and business teams. + Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, policies, and other legal documents. + Advise on advertising, promotional, and brand-related initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. + Identify and mitigate legal risks while balancing business priorities and operational needs. + Support the development and implementation of company policies and best practices, ensuring consistency and compliance across business units. + Represent the company in certain legal proceedings, negotiations, or regulatory matters, as needed. + Maintain a strong focus on process improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce risk within the legal function. + Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, demonstrating sound judgment and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Requirements Qualifications + JD from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar. + Minimum of 5 years of corporate legal experience, including hands-on experience advising marketing and brand teams. + Proven ability to take initiative, manage multiple projects independently, and meet tight deadlines. + Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset to partner across functions. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical guidance. + Exceptional attention to detail, with a track record of identifying risks and opportunities for process improvement. + Prior in-house legal experience, particularly within a technology or social media company. + Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly, pivot priorities, and thrive in a fast-changing environment.
