Job Title: Corporate Counsel

(Hybrid, 1-2 days in office per week – Bellevue, WA)

Pay Range: $133,679 - $200,517

What you’ll be working on:

The Savers Corporate Counsel will contribute to the success of Savers/Value Village by acting as in-house legal counsel for key business units and strategic initiatives. This attorney will provide legal counsel in the areas of regulatory compliance, contract drafting and negotiation and other legal needs for the Supply and Sourcing organizations. Corporate Counsel will report directly to the General Counsel. This role requires a confident, independent worker, an ability to navigate and counsel in the face of ambiguity, and strong customer service-oriented interpersonal skills.

 

What you have:

Provide legal oversight for all aspects of the Supply and Sourcing functionsManage legal aspects of business relationships with nonprofit partnersOversee professional fundraiser registration complianceProvide legal input on M&A due diligence and related activity.Advise on legal and regulatory complianceAdvise and instruct business teams on contract terms and best practices for contracts, draft and implement template agreementsEffectively communicate and negotiate with outside vendors, suppliers, etc.Collaborate with internal Savers functions to research, review, and analyze issues and advise on business-forward solutionsIdentify, assess, and address legal risks associated with operations, developing business-forward strategies that support complianceDraft, summarize, or review legal documents

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience with consumer protection-focused regulatory complianceExperience drafting and negotiating buy-side commercial contractsExperience with M&A due diligenceExceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levelsHighly organized with attention to detail and the ability to plan ahead and work within rigorous deadlinesComfortable with ambiguityAbility to supervise and direct paralegal and support team members to deliver legal servicesAbility to effectively partner with, and manage, outside counselAbility to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task autonomously and with minimal supervisionAbility to use discretion in maintaining confidentiality of sensitive materials and issues
 

Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:

4-6 years of relevant transactional and/or regulatory legal experience in-house, in a government agency, and/or at a law firmJ.D. from accredited US law schoolCurrently admitted to Washington State Bar Association, or able to waive inAdvanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office (i.e., Outlook-email, calendaring & contacts, Word, Excel, and Adobe)

 

FLSA: Exempt

 

Travel: 10% or less
