Corporate Controllers - Business Management – Vice President

This role supports the Bank Controller, Accounting Policy & Reporting (BCAPR) team. The BCAPR team is responsible for a variety of functions, including the legal entity controllership for several of the firm’s major legal entities, establishing global accounting and disclosure policies, and the submission of the firm’s consolidated quarterly and annual financial statements to the SEC on Forms 10-Q and 10-K. The organization defines and maintains US GAAP, IFRS, and Regulatory Reporting policies for the Firm and consults on their application, provides accounting and reporting guidance on specific line of business transactions and products, advises on Firm acquisitions and divestitures, and interfaces globally with standard setters and regulators on accounting and reporting matters. Business Managers play a crucial role in enhancing business performance by identifying improvement opportunities and spearheading key projects and initiatives. 

As a Vice President within the Bank Controller, Accounting Policy & Regulatory Reporting team, you will be instrumental in strategic planning, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and ensuring effective communication. Your role will involve spearheading change, questioning current processes, and advocating for beneficial transformation.

Job responsibilities: 

Manage and analyze team financials and headcount including leading the budget, multi-year forecast and business reviews Organize weekly management team meetings, Town halls and proactively manage timely and proper communications within the team on initiatives and key deliverablesPrepare executive presentations and provide internal coordination on cross team deliverables including ad-hoc project management supportBuild and maintain effective relationships within the team, and with key stakeholders, including other business management teams, line of business and regional controllers, Internal Audit, Finance Control Management and Program Management teams Participate in leading the control agenda to ensure an effective control framework is implemented and executed. (e.g., Business resiliency planning, inter-affiliate services requirements)Support hiring managers in position and requisition management and collaborate with recruiters across the globe to stay on top of latest hiring updatesTrack progress against priorities, including midyear and end of year summaries capturing the team’s accomplishmentsContribute to the idea creation and organization of people focused initiatives executed by the teams

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area5+ years of finance and/or accounting experience Ability to deliver timely, high quality presentations and reporting for various projects and stakeholdersAttention to detail is a must with continuous focus on design excellenceSelf-motivated and strategic thinker with the ability to work with a high degree of independence in a fast-paced, results driven environmentUphold strong business ethics when dealing with sensitive informationExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong time management and prioritization skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Previous Business Management or COO experienceIntermediate to advanced level ability expected in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Experience in project management
