Compensation includes a base salary of $99,000.00 - $165,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Cox Automotive is seeking a talented public relations professional to join our Corporate Communications team supporting the Inventory Solutions business. The Corporate Communications Manager will focus exclusively on external communications, partnering with key stakeholders to raise the visibility of Cox Automotive’s Inventory Solutions’ brands, including Manheim and Central Dispatch.
The ideal candidate is passionate about business-to-business public relations, a strong writer and highly collaborative, with a knack for finding newsworthy story angles and simplifying complex concepts and processes into clear, concise and compelling stories—both written and multimedia.
This role requires strong attention to detail and excellent project management skills. You must be self-directed, organized and able to independently manage multiple deadlines and projects.
What You’ll Do
Content Development: Draft clear, compelling and engaging external communications, including press releases, bylines, media pitches, social media posts, blog posts and more, for distribution to media and through owned channels (i.e. newsroom).
Visual Storytelling: Create engaging content such as infographics, video, and other multimedia assets to enhance communication efforts
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with key internal teams, including Marketing, Product and Business partners to stay up to date on the business, identify story opportunities and create materials for distribution to the media
Messaging Development: Contribute to narrative development to ensure consistent messaging across the organization
Media Relations: Develop and foster strong relationships with media, including pitching stories, staffing interviews and more
Measurement & Reporting: Track the effectiveness of PR efforts and provide insights for continuous improvement
Communications Administration: Regularly log and track communications activities, monitor for and track media hits, assist in creating and updating editorial calendar, assist in updating the Manheim Newsroom, as well as build and maintain media lists
Special Projects: Assist with special projects, communications plan execution, or other communications initiatives as needed on an ongoing basis
Travel: 15%

Who You Are/Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 6 years of experience. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 4 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years’ experience in a related field.
Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills and a strong sense of narrative and storytelling
Demonstrated ability to develop and foster strong relationships with reporters
Experience translating complex technology/concepts into understandable and compelling stories
Familiarity with new media landscape (podcasts, video, etc.)
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate in a clear and persuasive manner
Strong business acumen, with comfort and confidence to work with experts and leaders at all levels within the organization
Highly collaborative, with the ability to work effectively across teams
Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail
Travel: 15%
Preferred:
Degree in corporate communications, public relations, journalism, or related field
Experience in the automotive industry
