We are hiring a high-energy and service-oriented Corporate Financial Planning & Accounting Manager to partner with Company Executives and Leaders on:

precise budget planning by function and cost element

periodic forecasting to ensure ongoing precision

authoring detailed and executive-level variance analysis

cash flow analysis, including recommendations for opportunities

validation of proper general ledger recognition

Key functional areas of responsibility include various KBR Executive Stakeholders:  Accounting, IT, Treasury, Tax, Legal, People Team (Human Resources), Investor Relations, and Global Comms & Marketing.  

KBR is a dynamic organization supporting varying customers around the world.  In addition to the support of KBR’s enterprise-level teams, the position requires partnership with KBR’s segments accounting & finance teams for impacts of corporate costs on segment financials.  This includes how corporate costs are allocated across the organization for US Government, International Government, and Commercial contracts.

The successful candidate will need to be a collaborative and strategic thinker with strong operational and analytical skills; able to learn and use various financial systems to analyze transactional data and develop executive level dashboards; possess team leadership experience; and the ability to communicate and partner effectively across all levels of the organization. 

Working Model: Hybrid – In office (KBR headquarters) as required/directed

Must reside in Houston, TX

Reports to Corporate Controller

 Key Responsibilities: 

Successfully lead, manage, and influence in KBR’s globally matrix structure 

Partner with Corporate department heads to develop budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans aligned with strategic and financial goals 

Build strong relationships across KBR – including corporate functions & KBR’s segments – serving as a trusted financial advisor and partner to explain how corporate costs are reflected in KBR’s projected and consolidated financials

Monitor and analyze actuals vs. plan; provide meaningful variance analysis and actionable recommendations to all levels of the enterprise

Track, analyze, and forecast corporate departmental cash flows, highlighting risks and opportunities 

Partners with the Corporate Accounting team to understand accurate and timely general ledger accounting and month-end close processes, including understanding and use of multiple financial systems

Provide regular reporting and insights on Corporate spend and cash flow performance

Responsible for the monthly Corporate-only dashboards that includes the forecasting of the corporate income statement, balance sheet, and operating cash flows that it provided to Enterprise FP&A

Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, development of reporting tools, and planning methodologies 

Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement within the team 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred) 

Experience working at a public, global organization

6+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including managing teams 

Demonstrated experience managing cost center financials and cash flow analysis 

Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, and forecasting processes 

Strong knowledge of government contracting and indirect rate management  

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to clearly explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders 

Proven ability to lead and develop global teams, manage competing priorities, and influence across functions 

Proficiency with ERP and planning systems, including Oracle EPM, Oracle FCCS, Costpoint/Deltek, SAP and Dynamics 365 

Strong skills in use of Microsoft Excel & PowerBI
