Corp Supervisor - Cost Accounting
**Description** **Corp Supervisor- Cost Accounting** **Responsibilities:** 1. Review and maintain the company’s system / process of allocating overhead and other costs at the segment, region, and individual contract/job levels. 2. Actively participate in efforts to streamline the overall financial close process, including exploring better and more efficient ways of allocating costs at the right level (and via the optimal mechanism and process) within the company (i.e. enhance and modernize the existing overhead allocation process) 3. Supervise the cost accounting and fixed asset accounting team members. 4. Review monthly and year end balancing of fixed asset and all overhead-related balance sheet and income statement accounts. 5. Review period-end accruals related to overhead costs to ensure accuracy/completeness. 6. Provide financial analysis / support to operations, including the development and review of job bids to ensure fully costed for both the Vegetation Management and Infrastructure segments, including participation (as needed) in the Corporate Bid Committee meetings. 7. Regular interaction/support of the external auditors for the consolidated (and subsidiary) year-end audits, with regards to Fixed Assets & Overhead-related GL accounts. 8. Participate in special projects such as integration of new or acquired companies, system implements, process improvements, etc.. 9. Help with other responsibilities, as needed, such as real and personal property tax filings, payroll/bonus accruals and related filings. **Requirements:** 1. BS in Accounting. 2. CPA preferred, but not required 3. Preferred experience level - 4 to 6 years’ experience in cost accounting/allocation of overhead costs, preferably in the service industry. 4. Good written and verbal communication skills. 5. Team player with a teachable attitude / willingness to learn. 6. Ability to contribute creatively to a vision of “what could be”, not just focused on “what is/has been” 7. Ability to execute tasks within a project plan on time and at a high-level of quality. 8. Working knowledge of MS Office tools 9. Experience using modern ERP’s such as SAP or Oracle is preferred 10.
