Amazon is seeking a Copywriter II to lead the creation of copy in our in-house Creative Studio. As a Copywriter, you know how to write concise and strategic messaging that drives crucial marketing initiatives, inspires customers, and creates business results.
You have developed and adapted messaging for multiple types of paid and owned media executions, website content, and email marketing. You have been on teams with designers, producers, strategists, and other creatives in a symbiotic partnership of combining words with visuals. You live by the rule of brand guidelines but are flexible and agile when creating something that may go against the grain if it will wow a customer. You are a connoisseur of colloquial language but understand how to apply a consistent brand voice that is unique and engaging to multiple customer segments. You welcome the opportunity to review marketing materials for quality control, never miss a period, know the difference between widows and orphans, and embrace the Oxford comma.
Key job responsibilities
This role resides on the Creative Team within Workforce Staffing, Marketing. Core responsibilities include:
• Strategic Development: Lead copywriting initiatives for global English-speaking markets and develop comprehensive messaging strategies that align with campaign objectives
• Brand Voice Management: Maintain and evolve copy guidelines while ensuring consistent brand voice across all marketing channels and customer segments
• Content Creation: Write compelling copy for multiple types of paid and owned media executions, including digital, social, broadcast, and print materials
• Quality Control: Review and approve marketing materials for brand consistency, grammar, and effectiveness while maintaining strict editorial standards
• Stakeholder Partnership: Collaborate with creative teams, regional stakeholders, and business partners to develop effective content solutions
• Innovation Leadership: Drive best practices and continuous improvement in messaging approaches while staying current with industry trends
• Performance Optimization: Utilize research and data to inform messaging strategies and improve content effectiveness
• In-office 5 days a week. Office location is in Seattle.
