Copywriter

The copywriter is responsible for writing, proofing and editing branded and promotional copy across various platforms (digital, print, product pages, campaigns, etc.)  A wide degree of creativity and attention to detail is expected.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Hybrid

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a considerable workload and critical deadlines

Develop engaging, persuasive copy for various projects, ranging from store signs and print mailers to website pages and product descriptions

Collaborate with graphic designers and cross-functional partners to translate briefs and company priorities into customer-facing stories

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including concepting, writing, proofreading and providing edits

Conduct research and gather information needed to complete assigned projects (pricing, event information, product specifications, etc.)

Ensure 100% accuracy on all content, including pricing, product/event information, headlines, grammar, spelling and punctuation

Continuously evolve the copy through the lifecycle of the project based on strategy changes and feedback

Participate in reviews, presentations, and other project-related meetings

Performs other duties as assigned

Complies with all policies and standards

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree

Communications, Journalism, English or related field

Required

WORK EXPERIENCE

3-5 years related experience or training

Required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong writing skills that include tone, structure, grammar, spelling and factual accuracy

Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to think big picture

Ability to manage/execute multiple ongoing projects

Familiarity with content management systems

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Understanding of retail climate, terminology and SEO

Working knowledge of InDesign is a plus
