Three years of experience in a related field. Experience with graphic design tools, social media platforms, and content creation preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered. Nature & Purpose of Position Performs complex administrative and supervisory program work for the university’s College of Osteopathic Medicine (SHSU-COM). Primary Responsibilities Develops, oversees, and produces graphic design work and visuals for press releases, web updates and promotional materials for Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (SHSU-COM), ensuring all creative designs align with institutional goals and brand identity. Designs digital and print graphics for placement in industry magazines, newsletters, and for event marketing materials. Leads engaging social media strategy for SHSU-COM events, milestones, and the people who make SHSU-COM shine. Oversees the Heritage of Healing Gallery daily, manages looping video content, and provides friendly, informative tours for faculty, students, and visitors. Designs the gallery to ensure all displays are accurate, up-to-date, and visitor ready. Conducts research for articles, ensures deadlines are met for advertisements, writing assignments, and events, and manages logistics of the marketing team. Develops, edits, and produces the internal COM Connection newsletter material, and distributes using the EMMA email platform, keeping faculty, staff, and key stakeholders informed and connected. Performs other related duties as assigned. Other Specifications Proficiency with graphic design tools is preferred. Familiarity with social media platforms and content scheduling tools. Strong writing skills with attention to detail. Comfortable interacting with guests and providing tours. Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively. This is a hands-on role that blends digital creativity with real-world interaction, crafting content that resonates across platforms while also managing an in-person visitor experience through the Heritage of Healing Gallery. Working under the Director of Marketing, PR, & Communications, this position is responsible for executing a range of marketing and communication tasks that align with SHSU-COM’s strategic goals. From designing eye-catching graphics to assembling internal newsletters and supporting events, this role helps bring the college’s stories to life.
