Location: Delhi, NY Category: Staff Posted On: Tue Aug 19 2025 Job Description: A Coordinator for Access and Equity Services focuses on ensuring compliance with disability laws and providing direct support to students with disabilities to facilitate their academic success. This role is focused on direct student, faculty, and staff support. Key Responsibilities: + Review and implement accommodations for students with disabilities under the ADA, Section 504, and other disability laws. + Conduct intake meetings, assessments and develop access plans + Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure equal access to educational programs + Provide training and resources on disability awareness and accessibility + Oversee assistive technology and alternative format materials for students + Maintain student records and ensure compliance with institutional policies + Support students with self-advocacy and problem-solving related to access barriers + Assists with maintaining the college's designation as a voter registration site + Coordinate and facilitate student social group (IMD) + Meet with students one on one or in group settings to provide opportunities for academic skill development. + Hire, contract, and coordinate the services of external professionals for services related to student accommodations + Support and execute planning for the Summer Transition Program + Participate in local and national professional organizations to remain current in best practices for disability services + Proctor exam as needed + Assist with Open Houses, Orientations, Accepted Student Days and Summer Transition Program + Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date records related to student contacts Job Requirements: + Bachelor's in Psychology, Disability Services, Higher Education, Counseling, or a related field + Deep understanding of disability laws, accommodations, assistive technology, and digital accessibility + Three or more years of experience working with students with disabilities in a higher education setting Preferred Qualifications: + Master's degree in Counseling, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, Higher Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field. + Experience with Assistive Technologies, Learning Management Systems, and Accommodation management software + Excellent communication, advocacy, and conflict-resolution skills + Ability to educate and train faculty and staff on disability-related issues + Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple caseloads Additional Information: + Starting date: As soon as possible + Work schedule: Monday - Friday, Calendar Year, 12-month, obligation + Salary: $60,000 + Reports to: Director of Access and Opportunity Program + Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant + This position offers full New York State UUP (FT) (https://www.suny.edu/media/suny/content-assets/documents/benefits/benefit-summaries/UUP-FT-Benefits-at-a-Glance.pdf) benefits which are among the most comprehensive in the country with an excellent fringe benefits package + Click here for more Information for Prospective Employees (http://www.suny.edu/benefits/newprospective-employees/) SUNY Delhi has a strong commitment to Affirmative Action and Cultural Diversity.
