The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Under the direction of the Director of Patient and Family Services, the Intake Coordinator will answer the FIVE 9 Oncology Access Phone line and work collaboratively with the Oncology Access Team to ensure timely appointments with physicians in the Cancer Center at Cooperman. All patient calls inbound and outbound are documented in FIVE 9 system. Coordinators will work closely with the nurse navigators and the clinical practice staff. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, receiving inbound phone calls, emails and faxes, appointment coordination, patient demographic entry and notifying financial counselor if insurance or financials concerns are identified.

Qualifications:

Required:

Knowledge of computer programs (Office, Excel, PowerPoint, & Word)Minimum of two years of related experience in a medical office, hospital, medical call center, or similar customer service environment. Type at least 35 wpm. Excellent verbal and written communication and professional communication skills.

Preferred:

College Degree preferredEPIC knowledge preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

Shift Working: Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-5:00PMDay ShiftFull-Time, 37.5 Hours Per Week

Essential Functions:

Assist the Nurse Navigator in clerical functions which includes but is not limited to: Scanning, faxing, maintaining new consulting spreadsheetsComply with the SBMC confidentiality and HIPAA standardsEnter appointments into EPIC efficiently and completelyMail new patient registration and information package to the patient or send via My Chart  in EPICObtain, verify and enter patient demographic information into EPICReturns patient phone calls by the end of each day with updates regarding appointmentsTriage all new patient phone calls which includes gathering all medical information and reviewing the information with the Nurse Navigator to expedite a timely appointmentUpdates and maintains statistics on new patient volumes, referral patterns and survivorshipWhen setting up appointments will be sure to give the patient directions, and helpful general information
