The NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research (http://mcsilver.nyu.edu/) is committed to creating new knowledge about the root causes of poverty, developing evidence-based interventions to address its consequences, and rapidly translating research findings into action through policy and best practices.
We are seeking a full time Coordinator to join our team. This position will support a range of projects related to behavioral health policy, infrastructure, and implementation for New York State mental health and substance use agencies. For instance, the Coordinator may support the Managed Care Technical Assistance Center (MCTAC), an initiative funded by the NYS Office of Mental Health. MCTAC provides timely resources and offerings to NYS behavioral health providers navigating the changing Medicaid landscape. This position, under the direction of the Director of Healthcare Innovation, will plan, administer, and execute the vision, strategy, and goals of our Healthcare Innovation team, which consists of MCTAC and other technical assistance projects.
Responsibilities
+ Work under the direction of senior staff, and in collaboration with other TAC staff and partners to coordinate and facilitate statewide training initiatives
+ This involves being the primary point person to coordinate logistics for internal and external meetings and events, including scheduling, booking rooms, preparing materials, setting up conference calls, travel arrangements, catering and conference spaces, and notetaking.
+ This is a critical role that contributes to the success of all training and technical assistance events that MCTAC holds for behavioral health providers.
+ Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and keep project team(s) well informed of changes and lessons learned from various events
+ Maintain accurate meeting summaries that capture discussions and action items
+ Draft communications (emails, announcements, newsletters, webpages) using various web-based platforms
+ Incorporate digital accessibility formatting into all publications and webpages and perform quality checks on publications and data systems.
+ Collect survey and registration data, perform data entry, and pull together reports that synthesize overall participation and feedback for events
+ Use problem-solving skills when facing obstacles in the planning and coordination process. Adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment and identify solutions that aim to meet the goal of the project
+ Be open to receiving feedback and changing approaches to align our work with the interests and goals of stakeholders
+ Performs other duties as assigned. When needed, other responsibilities may arise for projects and will be discussed with the MCTAC team members and supervisor(s).

+ Strong time management skills,with the ability to independently prioritize tasks and manage workload with minimal supervision.

+ Interest in behavioral health and intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) policy and committed in improving the quality of health care that is provided to underserved, at-risk, and vulnerable populations
● BA or higher degree in health related field OR demonstrated minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a health related field.
● Must be able to travel independently between multiple work sites and events statewide
● Healthcare industry experience is a plus
● Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office and G Suite. Familiarity with Zoom and Webex video conferencing platforms.

+ NYU McSilver is currently operating on a hybrid schedule of 3-days a week in-person.
+ This is a grant funded position with the opportunity for ongoing renewal reviewed on an annual basis.
+ This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship including STEM OPT extension. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $63,000, commensurate with experience.
