WHAT YOU’LL DO

As an Unapplied Balances Analyst at VITAS Healthcare, you’ll be a crucial member of the revenue cycle team—ensuring that unapplied payments and credits are accurately identified, researched, and resolved to maintain the integrity of our financial records. You will be the bridge between patient accounts, payment processing teams, and other internal departments to ensure unapplied balances are applied promptly and correctly.

Each day, you’ll leverage your expertise in payment posting, reconciliation, and financial analysis to investigate unapplied payments, resolve discrepancies, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and, when necessary, with patients or payers. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will help clarify account statuses, improve cash flow, and reduce aged unapplied balances.

You will collaborate closely with billing, accounts receivable, and customer service teams to streamline payment processes and enhance overall revenue cycle efficiency. Whether identifying root causes of unapplied payments or recommending process improvements, your work will be essential in maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK

As an Unapplied Balances Analyst, you’ll work a standard 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday. From Monday to Thursday, you will be based at our Miramar office, collaborating directly with your team during regular business hours. On Fridays, you’ll have the flexibility to work remotely or from the office, depending on what best supports your productivity and work style.

WHAT’S EXPECTED FROM YOU

As an Unapplied Balances Analyst, you’ll bring strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset. Experience with payment posting, unapplied payment research, and reconciliation in healthcare or financial services is preferred. Familiarity with electronic payment systems, billing software, and ERP systems is highly desirable.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or a related field is a plus. Previous experience working with unapplied balances, accounts receivable, or revenue cycle functions will set you up for success.
