Coordinator, Music Creative Production - Series

Music Creative & Production (MCP) provides world class music support to our original series and Netflix cross-functional partners by guiding the music creative, scoring, and budgeting process from development to launch. Our goal is to empower Netflix to entertain the world by deepening fan engagement and amplify storytelling through music.

Position Overview

As a Coordinator on the Music Creative & Production - Series (UCAN) team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our Associate Managers and Leads on title work, as well as collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. You will help drive efficiencies, ensure effective communication, and use your extensive music industry experience to help to elevate and amplify the music in Netflix Series.

Responsibilities 

Identify opportunities to streamline processes and proactively support Creative Managers, anticipating needs and helping to create more efficient workflows across the team.

Read scripts, update music trackers along with corresponding on-camera grids, schedules, and one-liners, and provide timely, organized updates.

Schedule title-related meetings with external talent (Showrunners, EPs, Line Producers, etc) for Creative Managers.

Draft, manage, file, and track music budgets and liaise with Music Production to ensure alignment with Cost Reports.

Watch dailies and cuts as needed on active music projects and communicate relevant updates and potential issues to Creative Managers.

Assist in crafting and curating bios, credits, and reels for talent submissions, and log reels as requested by title leads.

Stay abreast of industry talent, including composers, music supervisors, songwriters, producers, etc., and proactively suggest candidates for consideration on current and upcoming titles.

Continue to build relationships with key external stakeholders (agents, managers, talent, labels, publishers, etc). 

Work closely with Music Production to assemble deliverables and assets when needed

Track music deliverables.

Ensure budgets and trackers are updated and logged in internal tools.

Update music budget templates.

Skills & Qualifications

Required 3-4 years of experience working on long form content (full length films or television series) at a Studio music department or music supervision company 

Knowledge of the music talent space - composers, music supervisors, songwriters, producers, agents, managers.

Knowledge of and passion for film and tv content, popular culture, and music in general.

Robust knowledge of the music industry, digital streaming platforms, music publishing, music licensing, record labels, PROs.

Curiosity of applications, data and technology and how it overlaps with team initiatives to create more efficient workflows.

Confidence in being highly organized and comfortable creating, developing and maintaining systems.

Ability to be a team player at all times, with a proven record of willingness to prioritize, respond, pivot quickly, think practically, positively, and be solution-oriented.

Ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably on multiple projects under tight time frames in a fast-paced production environment.  Be able to anticipate the needs of the manager in advance where possible.

Proficiency in Google Workspace and Project Management Tools (Slack, AirTable, Trevanna).

Willingness to actively play a role both in the MCP team and wider company to shape and progress Netflix culture, and to further MCP’s efforts in Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $50,000 - $245,000.
