Introduction
Are you ready to elevate your engineering career? We’re seeking a Lead Structural Engineer with deep expertise in Finite Element Analysis and large steel structures to join our Global Bulk Material Handling Engineering Team.
In this role, you’ll combine technical leadership with hands-on analysis to deliver innovative structural solutions for mining equipment, including Bucketwheel Stacker Reclaimers, Stackers, Shiploaders, CBU's, Rotary Car Dumpers, Positioners, etc. You'll help shape the future of sustainable mining equipment design worldwide.
What You’ll Do
• Lead Structural Analysis: Execute advanced structural modeling using FEA tools (ANSYS), Mathcad, and STAAD.Pro to ensure safety, performance, and compliance.
• Drive Engineering Standards: Develop and maintain best practices for structural design and analysis of large rotating and static machines.
• Collaborate Globally: Support multiple multiple green field project participation, technical reviews, upgrades, retrofits, and field service evaluations.
• Guide Project Delivery: Work closely with cross-functional teams—Product Lines, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Field Services—to ensure seamless integration of structural systems into complete equipment packages.
• Mentor and Support: Share your technical expertise by mentoring junior engineers and promoting a culture of continuous improvement in structural engineering.
• Engage with Customers: Provide remote and on-site technical support for clients, ensuring successful resolution of design and manufacturing challenges.
• Ensure Quality: Investigate and resolve non-conformances, propose design modifications, and contribute to corrective actions when manufacturing deviations occur.
• Contribute to Innovation: Active participation in R&D initiatives, focused on improving structural integrity, lifecycle performance, and design optimization.
Who You Are
• Educational Background: Degree in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of structural design experience with heavy industrial or mining equipment.
• Technical Expertise:
o Proficient in ANSYS, STAAD.Pro, Mathcad and equivalent softwares.
o Strong analytical capabilities for structural and fatigue analysis.
o Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings (metric & imperial).
o Familiar with welding, bolting, casting, and NDT techniques.
• Soft Skills:
o Strong communication and leadership skills.
o Ability to manage priorities independently across multiple projects.
o Comfortable working in global, multicultural teams.
• Adaptability:
o Willingness to travel occasionally for customer or site support.
o English language, reading, writing, and speaking skills at an advanced level is mandatory for this role.
