**Description:**
_The McAuley is West Hartford’s only Life Plan Community, promoting and fostering an independent lifestyle within a life care setting. Both Saint Mary Home and The McAuley offer a wide variety of cultural, educational, social and spiritual programs and activities to capture diverse interests and needs._
The position is responsible for the preparation, serving, storage, and cleanup of all food items and equipment. All tasks must be performed in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to regulations and established policies and procedures, as directed by the Executive Chef. The goal is to consistently deliver high-quality food service.
**Job Qualifications**
+ Proficiency in speaking and understanding English to communicate effectively with residents and staff.
+ Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
+ Prior experience in food preparation is preferred.
+ Familiarity with general kitchen equipment, including ovens, mixers, cutlery, and stoves.
+ Capability to work independently and efficiently.
+ Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
