You’ll support the Cook Manager but also take pride in running your kitchen your way. From preparing fresh ingredients to presenting food that looks as good as it tastes, you’ll be at the heart of creating a vibrant and welcoming dining experience for students and staff.
What you’ll do:
Prepare, cook, present, and serve food to Sodexo’s high standards – from breakfast and break times to lunch and hospitality.
Take ownership of kitchen operations, helping to shape menus, presentation, and efficiency.
Ensure all food safety, health & safety, allergen, COSHH, and HACCP regulations are followed.
Train and support catering staff in key skills and techniques.
Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy kitchen environment.
Ensure each dish is portioned and presented beautifully.
Deliver exceptional service to students and colleagues, leaving everyone impressed with the kitchen experience.
What we’re looking for:
Minimum 1 year hands-on cooking experience. Training in food hygiene and health & safety will be provided.
Comfortable cooking for large groups (1000–1200 students).
Ability to follow recipes and work with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Understanding of health and safety procedures and importance of compliance.
Able to work efficiently under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
Basic food handling skills certification.
