Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our dynamic engineering team. This role involves supporting the installation, configuration, and commissioning of advanced monitoring devices, including meters, gateways, and network switches. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong foundation in automation or low-voltage systems who is eager to expand their technical expertise and contribute to innovative engineering projects within the building automation industry.
ResponsibilitiesExecute the installation, configuration, and commissioning of sophisticated monitoring devices, including meters, gateways, and network switches, under the guidance of the lead technician.Maintain precise and detailed records of commissioning activities, test results, and equipment configurations to ensure accuracy and compliance with engineering standards.Work closely with commissioning agents, lead technicians, and project engineers to ensure the successful completion of engineering projects.Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to devices and systems in the field, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations during all commissioning activities to maintain a safe working environment.Assist with the ongoing maintenance and optimization of installed systems to meet client specifications and enhance system performance.Essential SkillsElectrical troubleshootingExperience with SCADA systemsAutomation systems and low voltage powerContinuous process improvementIntegration designPLC troubleshooting and programming1-3 years hands-on experience with SCADA systems & integration/automationExperience in Niagara 4 (N4) or GFX, and continuous improvementExperience with control system logic & user interfaces (HMIs)Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociates Degree in Electrical EngineeringExperience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus)Familiarity with SCADA software (e.g., Ignition, Niagara)Basic knowledge of Python or other programming languagesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Project)Certification in N4Work Environment
The work environment is hands-on and encourages learning new skills and systems. You will be expected to have a working knowledge of computers and basic IT systems. The role requires strong attention to detail, effective troubleshooting skills, punctuality, reliability, and commitment to being on time for shifts and meetings. You'll need the ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete projects successfully.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of south bend, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $57.00/hr.
