Controls Technician

Reporting to the Project Manager, Controls, Security, Automation & Electrical, the Controls Technician works on a variety of equipment and devices to design, program, assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair automation controllers/controls wiring, control devices and related equipment in buildings and other structures.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and implement automation programming, design graphics, and handle commissioning for new construction projects while providing servicing for existing clients Responsible for all Low Voltage Electrical work, including:Maintenance, service, installation and replacement or repair of motor control automation, switches, panelboard components, low voltage branch circuit wiring, transformers, control devices and IO devicesTroubleshooting and minor repairs on hardware and sensorsShut-down, lock-out, and start-up of automation systems and building equipment Provides onsite estimating Offer expert recommendations for automation solutions Provides electrical support for the HVAC service team; assist with HVAC control installations in commercial
buildingsAdheres to all company policies, procedures, and standards, and performs other assigned duties as needed

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

HVAC Technician / Instrumentation TechnicianElectrical tor Engineering certificate is recommendedN4 certified considered an asset

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

10+ years of HVAC automation experience in the ICI sector (Institutional, Commercial, Industrial)3+ years estimating experience considered an asset

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Experience with, JCI FX, & Honeywell BAS and HVAC systems an assetKnowledge of computer software's such as Microsoft and mobile device applicationsFollows written and verbal instructionsMaintain a professional demeanor and courteous phone etiquette when interacting with colleagues, customers,
and stakeholdersTravel to various sites, including out-of-town locations as needed, and be available for occasional overtimePhysical requirements: bending, lifting up to 30 kg, working at heights, and in confined spacesClean & Valid Class 5 AB Driver’s License and abstract
