**Job Title: Controls Technician**
**Job Description**
As a Controls Technician, you will support production by reducing or eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap through the application of analytical methodologies. You will be responsible for designing, specifying, programming, simulating, and testing control systems, as well as providing start-up assistance. Your role will involve programming automated equipment to meet production requirements and designing electronic controls to facilitate production processes.
**Responsibilities**
+ Support production in minimizing equipment and tooling downtime or scrap.
+ Design, specify, program, simulate, and test control systems.
+ Support efficiencies through process change and automation.
+ Program automated equipment to meet production requirements.
+ Design and quote electronic controls for production processes.
+ Receive quotes and recommend sources for control devices.
+ Facilitate and maintain process controls equipment.
+ Develop and design plant and process improvements.
+ Identify key process controls and provide resources to maintain them.
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable government safety and environmental standards.
+ Advise Maintenance Technicians.
+ Document all activities as required.
+ Adhere to company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation.
+ Perform any additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proven experience in PLC logic and programming with any of the following PLCs: Allen-Bradley, Modicon, GE Fanuc, Siemens, AutomationDirect, Mitsubishi, Omron, Aromat, Toshiba.
+ Experience in HMI or SCADA programming and configuration.
+ Minimum 2-year college education and 1 year of related experience in controls and assembly operations or equivalent.
+ Understanding and programming of PLCs.
+ Mechanical and electrical skills.
+ Leadership abilities and organizational skills.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Analytical skills.
+ Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Panel design and layout, wiring schematic capabilities.
+ Blueprint reading experience.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with conveyor systems and bar code readers.
+ Field commissioning experience.
+ Experience with Control Net and Device Net I/O systems.
+ Proficiency in RS View.
+ Experience with industrial controls (photo electrics, motor control centers, etc).
+ Variable frequency drive experience.
+ Ability to maintain confidential information.
